Comments:
I taught high school French and German immediatly after college but decided that I'd rather teach adults. I received a masters in ESL in 79 and have taught English to internationals ever since.
I've worked for the Defense Language institute since 1994 and have traveled to many countries (to name a few, Hungary, Albania, Slovakia, Argentina, Kazahkstan). I will soon embark on a new adventure--a 3-year tour to Yokosuka, Japan, where I'll be the chief of the English program. Sid & I leave in Oct 09.
I married in Aug 07, after having been a widow for almost 11 years. Sid's from a family of jewelers in Corpus Christi, and I met him when I went to get a watch battery at his store. We're both very excited about living in Japan and have even started learning the language.
Favorite "Growing Up Pampa" Memories:
Freedom of bicycling everywhere; exploring the Franklin Ranch on horseback; listening to nature's sounds in Palo Duro Canyon; football games and dances; The "Climbers"; movies at The Capri

Yes
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I got a black belt in Kuk Sool Won several years ago (with my younger son), but I don't practice much now. I do regularly go to the gym and pool at the Jewish Community Center.

Duncan McCarroll and Wanetta Hill

Anything else we should know?
I'm on my way to Japan on 19 Oct 2009 for a 3-5 yr tour. I'll be managing the English program at Yokosuka Ship Repair Facility, working on the base but living off the base to really experience the culture. It'll be a grand adventure for Sid & me! Come visit us!

Most of the teachers (plus my administrative specialist) in the Language Program at the Ship Repair Facility-Japan Regional Maintenance Center.
"Peace Park" is what the sign says. I'm within yards of the atomic bomb hypocenter in Nagasaki. Walking through the park and in the museum was a most sobering experience.
Hi Sue--Yes, I'll be at the reunion with Sid. Ellen & Bob will be coming, as well as Eveyln (our Guatamalan "sister" from 9th grade) and her husband, Barry. We'll go to Canyon Sunday and then to Palo Duro Canyon to see TEXAS that night. Looking forward to being in Pampa again and seeing lots of "old" friends!
I just heard this evening that Ellen is getting to come, too! And then I just saw the note that Evelyn is going to be able to come also. It's going to be great!!!
